Confirmation 2024: will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday 19 May 2024 at 3pm by Monseigneur Dominique Catta, from the Diocese of Paris.
– Saturday 23 March 2024: 2nd Confirmation Retreat at 10am at St Joseph’s includes meeting with our Bishop to discuss your letters.
– Confirmation Retreat Saturday 20 January 2024 at 9:15am (Meet at St Joseph’s). We will walk to St Augustin Church (75008) and Mass at 2pm can be joined by parents. All ends at 3pm at St Augustin.
-Enrolment for Confirmation: Sunday 21 January at 9:30 or 11.00am Mass: All Confirmation students to attend and enrol at either Mass.
– By 10th February 2024: Letters to Mgr Dominique Catta “each candidate gives a presentation of himself/herself , his/her Faith & officially asks to be confirmed and why”. Give or send your letter to church, or by email to stjosephparis@orange.fr
Baptism certificates to be emailed to church office. Candidates: Let your teacher know if you have not done your First Communion.
Confirmation is the strengthening of the new life of Baptism. As such it brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. St Ambrose, speaking to the newly confirmed explains: “Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God’s presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts” (St. Ambrose, De myst. 7, 42: PL 16, 402-403).
