Confirmation Program
– Confirmation Retreat Saturday 25 January 2025 (Meet 9:00am at St Joseph’s). We will walk to St Augustin Church (75008) and Mass at 2pm can be joined by parents. All ends at 3pm at St Augustin.
-Enrolment for Confirmation: Sunday 26 January 2025 at the 11am Mass. It is compulsory to attend.
– By Mid March 2025: Letters to Mgr “each candidate gives a presentation of himself/herself , his/her Faith & officially asks to be confirmed and why”. Give or send your letter to church, or by email to stjosephparis@orange.fr
– Confirmation ceremony : 8 June at 12:30pm
Candidates: Let your teacher know if you have not done your First Communion. Baptism certificates to be emailed to church office.
Confirmation 2024 has been celebrated on Pentecost Sunday 19 May 2024 by Monseigneur Dominique Catta, from the Diocese of Paris.
Confirmation is the strengthening of the new life of Baptism. As such it brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. St Ambrose, speaking to the newly confirmed explains: “Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God’s presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts” (St. Ambrose, De myst. 7, 42: PL 16, 402-403).
