Confirmation ceremony will held on Pentecost Sunday 2026 at 12:30pm
SCHEDULE
Information Day: Sunday 7 Sept from 11am, check the lists and attend the Parents/Teachers Meeting at noon
Start of CCD: Saturday 13 Sept at 4:30pm with Julie and Sunday 14 Sept at 11am with Venci
Retreat: Saturday 24 January from 9:30am to 3pm (starts at St Joseph’s and finishes at St Augustin)
Enrolment Mass: During the 11am Mass on Sunday 7 Sept
Letter to the bishop before 1 March 2025, “Each candidate writes a presentation of himself/herself , his/her Faith & officially asks to be confirmed and why”. You also should choose a quote from the Bible you like best and explain why. Give or send your letter to church, or by email to stjosephparis@orange.fr
Second Retreat TBA, one Saturday morning 10am to 1pm
Candidates: Please let your teacher know if you have not done your First Communion.
Baptism certificates have to be emailed to church office.
Confirmation is the strengthening of the new life of Baptism. As such it brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. St Ambrose, speaking to the newly confirmed explains: “Recall then that you have received the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God’s presence. Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and has placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts” (St. Ambrose, De myst. 7, 42: PL 16, 402-403).
