Baptism

Baptism is God’s most beautiful and magnificent gift… The sacrament is called Baptism after the central rite by which it is carried out: to baptize means to “plunge”; the “plunge” into the water symbolizes the catechumen’s burial into Christ’s death, from which he rises up by resurrection with him, as “a new creature”.

*BAPTISM APPLICATION FORM Please fill form below & do not schedule or plan a Baptism prior to registration confirmed with the Parish

  1. Preparation date to be selected on the Form
  2. Baptism date (the Sacrament itself) to be selected on the form
  3. Scan the birth certificate of the child to stjosephparis@orange.fr
  4. Scan the baptism certificate of the two godparents to stjosephparis@orange.fr

PREPARATION SEMINAR (is for parents & Godparents if leaving nearby) It has to be done BEFORE the Baptism date: it is always a Saturday from 11am to 12:30pm. Chris and Juliet will be emailing you prior to the course once you are fully registered.

The following readings are recommended for Baptism of Children:

Old Testament: Exodus 17:3-7, Ezekiel 36:24-28, Ezekiel 47:10-12. 
New Testament: Romans 6:3-5, Romans 8:18-32, 1Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28, Ephesians 4:1-6, 1Peter 2:4-5, 9-10, 

Responsorial Psalm:  Psalm 23:, Psalm 27, Psalm 34.
